On February 7th, ASCE OC University Outreach hosted the annual Mock Interview Workshop at the Geocon office in Irvine. The event was a great way for students to practice their interviewing skills with different outreach chairs and volunteers, and to learn about the types of questions that may be asked during an interview. Students had 10-minute rounds of interviews, and once the sessions were complete, they received feedback from their interviewers for 5 minutes. Some students who were not being interviewed were able to participate in a game called “Do Not Say UMM,” where they learned to avoid using various filler words while speaking. Thank you to our professional volunteers and the UO team for putting on this event for students, and thank you to Geocon for allowing us to use the space!
