What do you get when you mix a warm July evening, good drinks, and a group full of engineers? A surprisingly lively happy hour! On Thursday, July 24th, ASCE OC’s Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI) and Utility Engineering and Surveying Institute (UESI) groups hosted their summer mixer at Hangar 24 in Irvine, and it was a hit.

From the moment the first round of drinks landed on the tables, the buzz of conversation took over. Instead of slide decks and technical sessions, this event was all about connecting with old friends, meeting new faces, and swapping stories about projects (and sometimes about anything but work). Whether you’re into water resources, surveying, utilities, or just great company, there was a table waiting.
One of the best parts of the evening? Seeing students, young professionals, and seasoned experts all in the same space, sharing ideas and laughing together. No panels, no pressure – just a community enjoying each other’s company.
Cheers to a successful night out with the ASCE OC crew!
