This semester for ASCE CSULB was filled with standout events, meaningful collaborations, and opportunities for students to connect, learn, and grow. Below is a recap of some of our highlights from Fall 2025, along with photos capturing each moment.
Dream Big 2025: In December, we hosted Dream Big, one of the most successful and memorable events of the semester. The event brought students together to explore engineering principles through fun, hands-on activities and games, making learning engaging, approachable, and exciting for everyone involved. A huge thank‑you to our sponsors for supporting our vision, and special appreciation to UCI and CSUF for partnering with us and helping make the day run smoothly. Dream Big became the highlight of the semester, and we’re so grateful to everyone who participated, volunteered, and helped create a positive impact. We’re excited to carry this momentum into next year and bring Dream Big back with even more opportunities to inspire, connect, and learn.

ASCE Orange County History & Heritage / Student Scholarship Night Recap: In November, members had the opportunity to attend the ASCE Orange County History & Heritage / Student Scholarship Night. This annual event brings together college students, early‑career professionals, and industry leaders from across Orange County. Hosted by the ASCE Orange County Branch and Orange County Younger Member Forum at the Norma Hertzog Community Center in Costa Mesa, the night created a meaningful space for students to connect with professionals from universities, private firms, and public agencies. A major highlight of the evening was celebrating students from Long Beach who received scholarships. It was an inspiring reminder of the impact of student involvement and the support available within the civil engineering community. Congratulations to all awardees, and thank you to ASCE Orange County and YMF for hosting a night that celebrated our profession’s history and its future.

Fundraisers and General Board Meetings: Throughout Fall 2025, we hosted multiple impactful General Board Meetings that balanced professional development and academic support, including meetings featuring Matt Construction and Kiewit, where members learned about each company, heard industry insights, and had the opportunity to ask questions and network. We also hosted a study‑session GBM that created a collaborative space for members to work together, share resources, and stay motivated during a busy time in the semester.
We held several successful fundraisers at Hiccups, Urban Plates, and Raising Cane’s, and with your support, we raised funds to help power upcoming club events and student opportunities, while giving members a chance to connect outside of meetings through great food, great conversations, and a strong sense of community.

Beach Bonfire Recap: Our beach bonfire collab with NSBE, SWE, and the BEAVERS brought out an incredible crowd and created the perfect space for incoming and current students to mingle, get to know one another, and build genuine connections. The night was full of energy, good conversations, and nonstop fun. This event reminded all in attendance how strong our community is at CSU Long Beach.

Skating Into Finals Season: CSULB ASCE hit the ice for our Ice Skating Social and Fundraiser at The Rinks in Lakewood, giving members the perfect chance to enjoy some fun before finals season. Between the laughs, the falls, and the nonstop encouragement, the night turned into an unforgettable reminder of how strong our club community is. Events like this made it easy to take a breath, recharge, and head into finals feeling more connected and supported by the individuals around us.
