Project Details: The Adams Avenue and Pinecreek Drive Intersection Multimodal Improvements Project implemented innovative pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements at one of the City’s busiest bicycle and pedestrian intersections – at the primary entrance to Orange Coast College, Orange County’s largest community college.
The award-winning Project focused on “not giving up at the intersection” by addressing many mobility and accessibility challenges for pedestrians and bicyclists wanting to navigate around or through the intersection. The federally funded project was completed in partnership with the Coast Community College District and involved community outreach that was critical in shaping the ultimate direction of the Project.
The Project has been recognized by the American Society of Civil Engineers (OC & LA) for the 2025 Outstanding Bikeways and Trails Project and the Association of California Cities, Orange County, for Transportation Innovation and Mobility Solutions.
