Wei Koo, recently retired from engineering in 2024. is recognized for his leadership in delivering some of Southern California’s most complex and high‑impact transportation infrastructure projects. An accomplished entrepreneur, Wei has founded and helped grow two highly successful engineering companies, each known for advancing innovative and delivering high-quality transportation projects throughout Southern California.
Wei brings deep expertise in the development of large‑scale bridge and transportation projects, applying the latest industry practices and Caltrans standards to improve mobility and safety across the region. His track record of delivering technically demanding projects on time and within budget reflects his strong command of project management, multidisciplinary coordination, and structural engineering excellence.
His portfolio includes major regional projects such as the San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor Design-Build Project (SR 73), Foothill Transportation Corridor Project (SR 241), SR 91 Design‑Build Project in Corona, the SR 57/SR 60 Confluence Project in the City of Industry, the I‑5 South County Improvement Project – Segment 1 in Mission Viejo, and the 241/91 Express Connector Project. Wei’s experience spans both conventional bridge design and specialized construction methods—including spliced precast girders, segmental construction, and long‑span precast systems—tailored to challenging site conditions for highway, freeway, transit, and rail applications.
