Bio

Ani Sarkissian is entering her fourth year at UC Irvine, majoring in Civil Engineering. She is an active member and has held various leadership positions in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Engineering Student Council (ESC), Chi Epsilon, and Engineering Ambassadors. She was the External Activities Chair in ASCE, where she led outreach and volunteer activities for the club. She has been actively involved in the Environmental Competition and Concrete Canoe teams for the ASCE Pacific Southwest Conference in the past couple of years, and looks forward to leading the Environmental Competition this upcoming year. She was the director of the Engineers Mentoring the Future mentorship program through ESC, where she paired under- and upper-classmen, and planned and led professional and social events for the club. She has also participated and led outreach events to local high schools and middle schools about becoming an engineer through ESC. She is a Student Assistant Director for the Engineering Ambassador program, where she speaks with prospective students and their families about UCI Engineering. Ani has interned at the City of Los Angeles the past couple of summers and worked on various water treatment and water trunkline projects. Ani enjoys running, visiting the local beaches, and spending time with family and friends. She will be taking her Fundamentals of Engineering exam soon and looks forward to obtaining her Professional Engineer license in the future. She looks forward to a career in furthering developments in civil engineering.
