The 2014 Annual OC YMF Wine Trip

By: Nestor Godinez

The 2014 Annual OC YMF Wine Trip is one of OC YMF’s favorite and most popular yearly traditions.  This year’s Wine Trip was one of the most popular in recent memory with the event selling out weeks before the event date.  The annual event from Orange County to the Temecula wine country was held on Saturday, November 22.  The day proved to be a beautiful sunny day with the weather fully cooperating.  Thirty-one attendees from the organizations of OC YMF, OC Branch, and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) were transported to San Diego County in a limousine bus which facilitated conversation and networking between attendees and promoting new acquaintances to be created.  Wine tastings were had a three local wineries which off many different varieties of wine.  The first winery visited was the Europa Village Winery followed by the Lorimar Winery.  A picnic lunch was shared by all at the Maurice Car’rie Winery, famous for its brie bread bowls.  Everyone shared bread, cheese, meat, and some sparkling wine for good measure.  The day concluded at the Churon Winery at the third and final tasting.  A good time was had by all in attendance setting up for another strong Wine Trip in 2015.
