EWB Corporate Challenge

Applied Medical team gains gold

Dan Ramey
After a rain delay in September, the 2011 Corporate Challenge was held under sunny skies on October 16. Many thanks to all the teams and volunteers who turned out to make the day one of the most memorable events for EWB-USA OC.  The day consisted of four primary challenges including the Odyssey Obstacle Course, dodge ball, tug of war and some innovative relay races. Team members were treated to breakfast and lunch and had an opportunity to enter raffles on numerous items.

At the end of the day, the team with the best record was Applied Medical who proudly held up  the prestigious EWB-USA OC Corporate Challenge Winner’s Trophy for a team photo. The trophy will be engraved with their corporate name and they will have it to display in their office for one year.  As first place winners, each member of the Applied Medical team received a gold medal. Silver medals were awarded to CH2M Hill and the bronze medals went to Diaz-Yourman. Competition was very fierce and it was evident that all the teams were eager to win each event. Congratulations to all the teams on their magnificent effort. And, many thanks to the 30+ EWB-USA OC volunteers who excelled at producing a day full of excitement and fun.
