ASCE OC Younger Members Forum

Ronald McDonald House

By Andrew Lam

Every year, ASCE OC YMF volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House, where we would prepare and serve food to the families who reside there. In a brief summary about the organization, Ronald McDonald House in Southern California provides cost-free lodging support to children and families whose members are currently in care at the nearby hospital. Quite often, groups of volunteers sign up to prepare and serve food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As for us, we came to bake after lunch hour on June 17, 2017. Collaborating with Michael Baker Int’l, we managed to push out homemade chocolate chip cookies, brownies, and cupcakes. After we finished cleaning up, we all sat comfortably in the large living room as the manager of the Ronald McDonald House explained to us the mission of their organization. Afterward, she gave us a tour around the house.
