ASCE OC YMF - Rancho Dominguez Adobe Museum

On the first spring weekend of the year, OC YMF participated in the restoration of the Rancho Dominguez Adobe Museum. Located in LA County, the Adobe Museum is a California Historic Site home to several gardens and Spanish style structures. YMF helped specially with clearing out invasive species from the cactus garden. Additionally, the event allowed members to interact with docents and on-site clergymen to learn about the sites history. As civil engineers we have a deep connection to the way a place is formed and becomes a part of history. The ability to pay homage the beautiful Adobe Museum and Gardens gives engineers a moment to reflect on their own projects and how they might one day stand the test of time, influencing generations to come.
