Attends LA Galaxy Soccer Game

Nestor Godinez, P.E.

Every now and then it is great to catch a professional sports game at stadium and just cheer and have a good time with friends.  On Saturday September 16 OC YMF hosted an outing at the Stub Hub Center in Carson to catch a Major League Soccer game between the Los Angeles Galaxy and Toronto FC.  The game was always going to be a difficult game because Toronto FC have had one of the best season of any team in league history.  Although the game had some diminished star power on both sides due to injuries, the game boasted players that play on national teams abroad and for the USA national team.  Toronto FC put on a clinic and routed the LA Galaxy 4 to 0.  But in the end, the loss was not too tough for the 25 YMF members in attendance because the atmosphere was lively and some good soccer was on display.  Next year will see Los Angeles FC join MLS bringing a total of 2 professional teams to Los Angeles and an opportunity for ASCE OC to catch a derby game between the two soon to be rivals.
