ASCE CSULB

SGH Workshop

By Lucinda Rubio & Kevin Tasci | ASCE CSULB Webmaster & Co-President

Students at CSULB were joined by Simpson Gumpertz and Heger on Thursday, March 16th, and learned about their company and gained some hands-on experience with some SGH experiences out in the field. Simpson Gumpertez and Heger is a national engineering firm specializing in the design, investigation, and rehabilitation of structures. The company representatives, Jerry Ding and Zach Bettner, shared their experiences working at SGH, both technical and non-technical.

Jerry led us through a hands-on test in construction equipment they use in the field, while Zach looked at how to construct and visualize 2-D objects into 3-D ones.

Thank you again to SGH for coming out and holding this workshop. We cannot wait to welcome our next workshop with you!
