ANNUAL/SPECIAL EVENTS
Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition (PSBC): Coordinate the annual competition for high school students to promote civil engineering. Work with participating schools and LA YMF for the event. Tasks include preparing competition rules and guidelines, fundraising, coordinating venue, preparing flyers, and advertising the event for volunteers and judges. History and Heritage: Review important civil engineering projects in Orange County and nominate projects worthy of Historic Civil Engineering Landmark status. OUTREACH COMMITTEES
K-12 Outreach Committee: Work closely with local K-12 schools for classroom visits, career day events, and science fairs. Advertise outreach events to members. University Outreach Committee: Connect the Branch/YMF with local university ASCE chapters (UC Irvine, CSU Long Beach, CSU Fullerton). Community Service Committee: Work with non-profit/volunteer organizations to create opportunities to give back and grow the community. Past events have included Corazon Home Build, Ronald McDonald House, food drives, and charity walks (5-6 events per year). Programs Committee: Plan technical tours and presentations throughout the year. Volunteers need to brainstorm new ideas, seek out technical speakers, and coordinate the events. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Mentorship Committee: Foster relationships between mentors (experienced and accomplished professionals) and protégé (younger professionals). Prepare and review mentorship applications. Government Relations Committee: Organize government affairs activities for members to meet with policymakers at the local level. NETWORKING SOCIAL
