ASCE OC hosted the 27th Annual Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition on May 1st, 2021. This event was also the 2nd Virtual PSBC as both years that OC hosted the event were under COVID times. A total of 30 teams registered and an overall $1775 was awarded in scholarship prizes. More »

Engineering Art Contest

ASCE OC hosted an Art Contest for several age ranges for all K-12 grades. We received over 50 entries from students all over LA and OC and awarded e-gift cards to the top 3 illustrations for 3 different age groups. More »

Legacies

Firmly entrenched in the midst of my career and fast approaching my 40th birthday, I have found myself thinking about legacies quite a lot lately.  One of the unique things about being president of the ASCE Orange County Branch is that the position affords the ability to see legacies at various stages of development: ones that have been cemented, ones whose seeds have just been planted, and everything in between.  In the ASCE Orange County Branch, I have noted some excellent examples of each over the past few months.
