ASCE Life Member
By: Ramesh Gupta, Ph.D, PE A Life Member is an individual who has made a lifetime commitment to ASCE and the civil engineering profession by remaining a member for a full length of their professional career. To be a Life Member, one must have reached the age of 65 years and have paid dues in any membership grade except Student Member for at least 35 years and have had 10 years of continuous membership preceding the attainment of Life Member. Another Event Full of Memories
On March 7th, 2015, Orange County Branch members journeyed to the Monterey Steakhouse in Monterey Park for the Los Angeles Section’s annual Life Member Brunch. This event honors members who have advanced to Life member status in the Society. Other members in attendance learned about the fascinating achievements our life members have accomplished over their careers. The event took place on a beautiful day over-looking the city and its incredible infrastructure of buildings and freeways, very fitting for the occasion. More »

Life Members are the Life Blood of ASCE
I am happy to announce that Greg Henk, PE, a life member, will be joining the Orange County (OC) Branch as Secretary. I am not sure if the OC Branch has had a life member as a board member in the past. We are excited about the new opportunities Greg will create with engaging more of our members. He has already started a community service program at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park and is leading a group of civil engineers in running the Ragnar SoCal Relay Race in April. We look forward to Greg bringing a new perspective to the board. More »
