Sustainable Groundwater Management in SoCal with SGMA
By Jessica Cassman, PE, ENV SP and Nathan Chase, PE, ENV SP The ASCE-OC Sustainability Committee and EWRI-OC wish to thank Enrique Lopezcalva (of RMC), Roy Herndon (of OCWA), and Brian Powell (of EMWD) for their presentations on the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) at the lunchtime seminar held on April 7, 2016 in Irvine. An engaged audience of over 40 professionals learned from the speakers’ experiences with the early stages of SGMA readiness and compliance. The presentations also gave an overview SGMA implications statewide through 2042, as well as regional and local impacts, challenges, and highlights. More »
