Orange County Branch Newsletter
By: John Merrill, PE
The Board of Directors of ASCE Orange County Branch is planning an exciting year of events, activities and professional development opportunities for 2014. To complement this, the Board has tasked the Marketing Committee to promote company sponsorship and advertisement services for 2014, and explore new opportunities going forward.
The Board has laid out several goals this year toward maximizing these revenue generating opportunities, with the vision of serving our members in a more strategic and purposeful manner. We are currently exploring new ideas to make sponsorship more attractive, and would like your feedback on how to provide even more effective and beneficial opportunities with our business and agency members.
Steven King, who has done an excellent job leading this effort last year, has passed the torch onto me, and will continue to be an active committee member. As such, we have an immediate need for more volunteers like Steven and myself who are willing to take the lead on important monthly tasks such as:
- Business card advertisement coordinator: Receives business cards, tracks donations. Coordinates with Newsletter and Website volunteer for monthly newsletter and professional directory updates.
- Newsletter sponsorship coordinator: Coordinate with monthly sponsors and ASCE OC management to provide invoices, track payments. Coordinate with Newsletter volunteer.
- Website sponsorship coordinator: Coordinate with monthly sponsors and ASCE OC management to provide invoices, track payments. Coordinate with Webpage volunteers.
- Social Media coordinator: Interfaces with Public Relations volunteers to promote sponsorship opportunities and provide tweets/posts acknowledging event sponsors.
If you are interested in any of the above, please contact me at [email protected]. Most of our coordination will take place via e-mail and phone, and not require regular meeting attendance. And as always, if you have colleagues/friends who are interested in volunteering to help your professional society grow and prosper, feel free to forward this message to them as well.
With your help, I look forward to an exciting and productive year!
