Mentorship Program Speed Interview Event

By Paul Gabot

The 2017-2018 Mentorship Program held its Speed Interviewing Events on September 27th and 28th 2017 at AECOM in Orange, CA. The goal of the Mentorship Program is to pair an experienced civil engineer with a young civil engineer. The Mentor would be able to share their wisdom and experience from their career with their Protégé and the Protégé would be able to ask questions and seek guidance from their Mentor. Over the two days, twenty-six Mentors and Protégés engaged in quick seven minute conversations with the goal of pairing a Mentor with a Protégé. A wide variety of civil engineering disciplines were represented between the Mentors and Protégés: structural, transportation, geotechnical, water resources, wastewater, and environmental. The Mentor/ Protégé pairings will be revealed at the Kick-off Event on October 12, 2017, at Golden State Water Company in Anaheim, CA. The Mentorship Committee looks forward to bringing Mentors and Protégés together and seeing their relationships grow and develop over the next year.

We would like to thank those who chose to participate in the 2017-2018 Mentorship Program. If you were not able to join us this year, the application period for the 2018-2019 Mentorship Program will likely open in August 2018. Please contact the Mentorship Committee at mc@asceoc.org with any questions.
