Younger Member Forum - Annual Temecula Wine Trip
By Nestor Godinez, PE
The Orange County YMF Annual Wine Trip to Temecula was held on Saturday November 2nd. Attendees were picked up in Orange County and taken to Temecula in a bus to taste some of the award winning wines grown in the region. This year we visited four great wineries.
The day started off at Palumbo Family Winery, which is a small beautiful and welcoming family business with very flavorful wines. Afterwards we visited Callaway Winery, in which we got to enjoy more of the delicious Temecula wines while admiring the beautiful views overlooking Temecula Wine Country. Later on lunch was held at Maurice Car’rie Winery, definitely a crowd favorite for their sparkling flavored wines and their famous brie bread bowls. Finally the day’s tastings finished at South Coast Winery an award winning winery with beautiful gardens and an incredible variety of wines to try, each one of them with amazing flavors.
It was a pleasure to have The Society of Women Engineers attending this yearly event which has become a tradition for them to join. OC YMF looks forward to continue networking with them throughout this coming year in different events. We also had the pleasure to have a lot of new attendees to the wine trip among those who were first timers were students and officers from UCI, CSUF and CSULB students chapter, as well as new YMF board and general members. Attendees expressed having a great time and were able to network and meet new people in a joyful and relax environment. Everyone definitely looks forward to next year’s Wine Trip.
