Call for Papers

The ASCE Los Angeles Section International Committee is organizing its 7th International Engineering and Construction Conference (IECC’7),  jointly with the Centre of Excellence in Engineered Fibre Composites (CEEFC), University of Southern Queensland (USQ), Australia. The conference will be held during February 13-15, 2012, in Brisbane, Australia.

Prospective authors are invited to submit abstracts, not exceeding 300 words, via e-mail to Prof. Alan Lau (E-Mail address: [email protected])  on or before September 1, 2011.    Abstracts should present original, unpublished advances of knowledge in accordance with the conference theme. Authors will be notified of acceptance or otherwise of their abstracts by October 1, 2011. 

Full papers, not exceeding 8 pages (12 Point, Single Space) including figures, tables, etc., are due by November 1, 2011.  Based on peer review results, revised final papers will be submitted by December 1, 2011 for publication in a book of proceedings and in a CD-ROM that will be available at the conference. The Abstract Template is available in the Conference Website for use by the prospective authors.

Affordable Housing & Innovative Building Systems (Materials, Structural Systems, Building Physics, Construction, etc), Innovative Green Building Systems, Eco-Village and City Planning, Eco -Green Construction & Community Management, Socio-Economical Impact of Adopting Green Innovative Housing Systems, Long-Term Performance, Maintenance and Monitoring of Innovative Housing, Green Building Code Development, Energy-Sustainable Constructed Facilities, Multidisciplinary Sustainability

Student Paper Contest:

Students are welcomed to present abstracts and papers following the same guidelines given above. The student papers may be presented by a sole author or jointly with a mentor. A team of professionals will evaluate the student papers and suitable awards will be presented at the conference. To be qualified for the Student Paper Contest, the students must be currently enrolled at an accredited university/college taking at least 6 semester units. They must submit a letter from the Dean, Department Chair or Major Professor attesting the student status with their paper.
