ASCE OC YMF Internal Activities

Temecula Wine Tasting Trip

By Michael Dinicola, EIT | Internal Activities Co-Chair

This past August, ASCE OC YMF successfully marked a return to tradition with 20 of our members enjoying a sunny day trip to Temecula to revive our in-person Annual Wine Tasting Trip! Award-winning wineries flourish in Temecula Valley, offering their delicious, locally made wines at great prices. Throughout the day, the group visited a total of three wineries, where we bonded over tasty drinks, delicious food, and fun conversations.

Our fun-filled day started early, with the group boarding the Wine Trip Party Bus at 9 am. While traveling to the first winery, everyone met over a light breakfast and group mimosas! Before we even knew it, we were already at our first stop for the day, Europa Village Wineries and Resort. At the resort, we treated ourselves to a beautiful view of Temecula’s lush, rolling vineyards from the unique vantage points the resort’s courtyard had to offer. After spending some time in their various tasting rooms, it was eventually time to take the party back onto the road.

For our second trip stop, we settled down in Maurice Car’rie Vineyard’s picnic area and enjoyed a group lunch (courtesy of ASCE OC YMF) of various sandwiches, cheeses, meats, crackers, fruits, and delicious freshly baked garlic sourdough rolls filled with brie cheese. With our appetites quenched and some more wine in our systems, we were fueled to make the trip to our third and final stop for the day, Peltzer Winery. Peltzer offered our group a quaint farm atmosphere and an industrial-chic winery with a vintage feel to relax, sip, and do nothing but chat. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect conclusion to our Temecula wine trip.

All in all, we had an amazing time, and I hope reading this convinces you to join us for our trip next year as our ASCE OC YMF Internal Activities team continues this yearly tradition that we enjoy hosting so much.
