Announcing the Orange County Geo-Institute Chapter

The ASCE Orange County Branch is pleased to announce the creation of the Orange County Geo-Institute Chapter.  The Geo-Institute (G-I) is a specialty membership organization focused on geo-professionals and the geo-industry. Clint Isa, PE will be Chairman for the newly formed Chapter. Under Clint’s direction the OC G-I Chapter will be dedicated to advancing the geo-professional community in a manner consistent with the purpose of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Geo-Institute.

ASCE believes that to be successful in your specialty area, you need access to the technical, educational, and professional issues moving that specialty forward.  That's why every ASCE member receives FREE membership in one of ASCE's eight specialty Institutes. If G-I is your only institute, membership is free.  If you'd like to add G-I as a secondary institute, you'll pay a small fee.

The G-I’s membership consists of 11,000+ individual members and over 60 Organizational members, including engineers, scientists, technologists, students, and organizations interested in improving the environment, mitigating natural hazards, and economically constructing engineered facilities.

G-I offers it’s members numerous opportunities through award programs, such as the Karl Terzaghi Lecture, Ralph B. Peck Award, and Wallace Hayward Baker Award, to be recognized for their outstanding contributions to the geotechnical engineering profession.

Another benefit of G-I membership is the Geo-Strata Magazine, the official bi-monthly magazine of the Geo-Institute. It is a free membership benefit, featuring articles written by and for geo-professionals.

Stay tuned for additional details on how to join the OC G-I Chapter, become involved and attend meetings.
