This is a position for a well-rounded, self-motivated, hands-on, problem solving individual. The position will require broad duties, and will provide an excellent opportunity for career development. The ideal candidate will have minimum 8 years of experience in the water/wastewater industry (pipelines, reservoirs, pumping plants, and treatment facilities), specifically related to design and project management. Experience with and an aptitude for mechanical, electrical, and structural design is also preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Construction Drawings and Specifications for a variety of projects including, pipelines, well pumping plants, booster pumping plants, lift stations, reservoirs, and treatment plants
  • Prepare technical and engineering correspondence and reports
  • Prepare agendas, conduct meetings, and prepare meeting minutes
  • Plan, assign, train, instruct, assist, supervise, and evaluate the work of engineering and technical staff
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize workload to effectively meet deadlines

Qualification

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in California
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering design (pipelines, reservoirs, pumping plants, and/or treatment facilities) with minimum 3 years of experience in project management
  • Detail-oriented with strong technical skills and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with municipalities and public agencies
  • Strong client management skills
  • Ability to communicate with design engineers of all disciplines (civil, mechanical, structural, electrical)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • “Self-starter” with initiative and ability to organize and manage work, and balance competing priorities
  • Experienced with PCs, Windows operating systems, Windows Office, Internet, e-mail, and smartphones
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
  • Ability to drive to job sites within Southern California (valid driver’s license)
