George Jurica is the Managing Partner at Cannon Corporation Irvine. Prior to Cannon, George was the founder and President of PENCO Engineering for over 30 years. He is a registered civil engineer who since 1972 has been a Project Engineer, Project Manager and Principal-in-Charge for the planning, design and construction of many major public and private sector projects throughout southern California. He is a very active and passionate member and Board Member of various professional organizations including APWA-SoCal and ASCE-OC. George has received several awards from these, and other organizations as follows: 2013 Private Sector Leader of the Year for APWA – SoCal; 2003 Private Sector Engineer of the Year for ASCE-LA; 2003 Distinguished Engineer of the Year for the OC Engineering Council; and 2001 Civil Engineer of the Year ASCE-OC.  George loves to play golf, soccer and basketball. He was on the UCLA-NCAA soccer team and played semi-professional soccer in the Los Angeles area, and is an avid Lakers fan. He is also very involved in church activities and enjoys traveling and family gatherings.

Mr. Jurica is the founder and President of PENCO Engineering, Inc., a civil engineering and survey firm servicing public and private sector clients with offices in Irvine, Corona and San Diego. This year PENCO is celebrating its 27th Anniversary. Mr. Jurica played a major role in many major projects throughout southern California including the following selected list of projects: Disney California Adventure, various roadway and drainage projects for LACDPW, Portola Parkway, Jeffrey Road, and Irvine Boulevard for the City of Irvine; Los Angeles Trade Tech College Design Build Project; Riverside County Regional Medical Center; over 20 projects for LAUSD; various Irvine Ranch projects; and Platinum Triangle in Anaheim just to name a few.

He is a member of various professional organizations including past President and Board Member of ASCE – OC Branch. He has been very active in ASCE including chairing the golf committee, 150 year anniversary committee, program committee and awards committee. He is currently a Board Member and Chairman of the Golf Committee for APWA - Southern California. Mr. Jurica received several distinguished awards. His key awards include: 2001 Civil Engineer of the Year for ASCE-OC; 2003 Private Sector Engineer of the Year for ASCE-LA; 2003 Distinguished Engineer of the Year for the Orange County Engineering Council; and 2013 APWA Southern California Chapter Top Leader Private Sector. Mr. Jurica received his B.S. Degree in Engineering from UCLA in 1972 and MBA Degree from University of Denver in 1983. He is very involved in church activities at St. Edwards in Dana Point, and also enjoys playing golf, traveling and family gatherings. He is married to his beautiful wife, Milka, and has three children Marina, Gregory and Michelle and one grandson, John.
